Up above the streets and houses

Rainbow climbing high,
everyone can see it smiling,
over the sky.
Paint the whole world with a rainbow.

Rainbow

That's two chances of a pot of gold then.

Rainbow Moon

Not a particularly good shot I'll grant you, though this is what the Moon looked like just now when I took Geoff out for his evening constitutional; ringed in a rainbow, it reminded me of the Helix Nebula, the 'Eye of Creation'. Very nice.

Rainbow ghost

We saw a strange phenomena in the forest today. It was cold and misty this morning although by the time we walked the low escarpment of Rock Hills the Sun was rapidly burning the mists away. When right in front of us a ghostly rainbow appeared. At first it was rather ephemeral, phasing in and out of existence. I wondered at first whether it was even there, or maybe it was an illusion. When it became tangible it was made stranger by it being so close, it manifested right there in front of us. So close we could see both ends touch down, though we couldn't see the top of the arch, that was missing as the rainbow didn't extend beyond the height of the mists. Really cool. The ghostly rainbow even had ghostly colours, although if you focused too hard they disappeared, a strange optical allusion for sure. Then it faded and was gone. What a lovely sight, I felt blessed to have caught it's transience.

Rainbow Road

Rainbow Road? I looked and looked, not a Mario Cart in sight!

Rainbow

When the low autumn sun broke through the heavy grey blanket that raced across the sky, there was a lovely light out in the forest today. It was a day that didn't know what camp to stand with, light rains fell as the sun shone, what my Mum used to call 'a fox's riddle and a monkey's dance'. I have no idea what it meant or where it came from (she was brought up in India), though I taught it to my kids too. Beautiful day of myriad rainbows.

Bifrost, maybe?

A rainbow shines through a cloud waterfall, either that or it's the Bifrost, and Asgard's eyes are upon us.

Bilröst

The Bilröst is opened and someone/something crosses the rainbow bridge between Midgard and Asgard, or......... it could be the reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets. Your perceptions are your own. Though, I'm sure I heard the Gjallarhorn echo through the stands.

Up above the streets and houses

The weather was interesting today. When the sun came out it was really lovely, illuminating the landscape as if spring had come calling, though this was only ever out fleetingly. Then before you knew it, the winds drove the clouds back obscuring the sun, bring with them rain and hail. Then there were the moments when it rained as the sun shone, a foxes riddle and a monkeys dance as my old mother used to say; I don't know why, she was a bit bonkers. At these moments of weather transition rainbows formed. I was looking at one such rainbow over Ober Water towards Rhinefields Sandy's when I noticed that the rainbow passed in front of the trees of the enclosure, and by shifting my position slightly I could see where the ends touched down. I don't remember ever seeing a rainbow like that before; I got quiet excited. I also made a note of where the ends of the rainbow were, just in case.

Up above the streets and houses...

Up above the streets and houses rainbow climbing high, everyone can see it smiling over the sky, paint the whole world with a rainbow.  Who remembers 'Rainbow'?  Todays rainbow climbed up above the redundant King Barrow quarry stone heaps. As the sun sunk behind the clouds in the west, a rainbow appeared in the east. Nice.
