View

I didn't know Townley Shenton, whose memorial seat is sited on the highest point of the undulating ridge which runs above Kimmeridge Bay. The inscription on his seat says that he liked this view and hoped we would too, well I do, it is fantastic and no mistake. Top spot Townley.

  1. Thank you for that Ryhope. My father was Townley Shenton and just before he died he had the bench installed as it was one of his favourite views. He would love to have seen your post.

  2. Mr Shenton was the headmaster at my primary school. I still remember him fondly more than 30 years after i left. It was a wonderful school and on the odd occasion he would tell a fantastic story that captivated the entire class. I still admire how he had the intelligence to create the stories "off the cuff". Saddened to hear of his passing. A great man who had a profound impact on my childhood...
