Tales from the river bank

Muffled in mist, the forest was near silent this morning, nothing stirred amongst the stands, even the brook running through Red Rise moved imperceivably. The world was moving in slow motion. The frenzied activities of the past few weeks in the forest as the woodland dwellers noisily did their thing preparing for the dark part of the year have abated. The forest is now falling asleep.
